First Day of School
Today was the first day of school for the grandsons. GS1 started 2nd grade and GS2 started Kindergarten. I was sorta worried about GS2 because he’s a shy little guy around people he doesn’t know. I figured he’d get all clingy and start crying when he got dropped off. Turns out he was tougher than I gave him credit for.
#1 son (my oldest daughter) called and said there were 3 little kids crying when their parents had to leave. GS2 turn to his and his mom (#2 son) and said, “All this crying sure is noisy. We’re going to have to cover our ears when we come here.” LMMFAO
I’m thinking of renaming GS1 and GS2 to Omen 1 and Omen 2. They have a love/hate relationship. They can’t stand being apart, but shred each other to death when they are together.
Cash For Clunkers – Dealers Are Getting Rich!
Cash for Clunkers reminds me of the beginning of the housing crash. Interest rates went down and that would have been fine if housing prices remained the same. You absolutely would have been getting “more house” for your money. However, that wasn’t the case because greedy real estate brokers convinced sellers to ask more for their homes because borrowers were qualifying for more money. And we all know how that turned out.
Clash for Clunkers stinks, too. Car dealers are not giving the customer the best deal with this rebate and they are making money handout over fist. I’ve been watching car commercials on TV and God Almighty, talk about some slimy math.
You never, ever, fucking EVER pay full Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price. If you do, you’re a moron. Do you have any idea what the markup is on cars?
Here is a typical deal as seen on TV.
Mfg. Suggested Retail Price: $20,000
Cash for Clunkers Rebate: -$3,500 or $4,500
Less discount: -$1,000
What’s wrong with that picture? The customer is NOT getting the best deal they can and the car dealer is making a fucking KILLING on the deal because the discounts being given are next to nothing. A $1000 discount on a new car ain’t shit.
The dealer gets the rebate back from the government and rolls a $20,000 car off the lot for a fat $19,000. The customer should be making their absolute best offer on the car and THEN and ONLY THEN should that rebate be applied, thus bringing the final price down even lower.
The Cash for Clunkers program ends next Monday and there is going to be a run on car sales over the weekend. However, these dealers are worried that the money’s going to run out and they won’t get their rebate reimbursement. It’s first come, first serve, but they have no way of knowing how much money has already been used up. The dealers are crying like a bunch of sissy little girls that they’re taking a risk by continuing to give rebates over the weekend.
Don’t you dare feel sorry for them. You’re high if you think the dealers are going to be losing money on the deal when the rebate money runs out.
Yes, it gets polluting cars off the road and puts cars in the hands of people who otherwise may not be able to afford them, but it’s another bailout that you and I are paying for to line the pockets of someone else. First the car manufacturers and now the car dealers. fuckers
I Quit You, goDaddy
I can no longer stand to use goDaddy’s services and I am letting my domains either expire or transferring them to NameCheap. Here are my instructions for transferring your domain name from goDaddy to NameCheap .
A few years ago I had web hosting with them for about 1/2 hour. After cruising the control panel I said no way. Plus, all that proprietary crap they hang on it was too much. I cringe when people tell me they have web hosting with goDaddy . Why do they do it? Because they think Danica Patrick is hot? Because they see goDaddy’s ads on TV? Marketing bullshit.
Their unlimited web hosting plan for 3 years is $12.74 a month. JHC!!!! Get out the jar of vaseline. What an ass raping. I get a 3-year unlimited hosting plan at WebHostingPad for $1.30 a month. FUCK, man, I URGE you to transfer right now.
Back in the day I thought goDaddy was “the place” for registering domain names. Yes, it was and still is considerably cheaper than NetworkSolutions or Register.com, but that’s where it ends. NameCheap is way cheaper, especially with their monthly coupon code. Plus, NameCheap gives away FREE privacy protection with all domain registrations and transfers with dirt cheap yearly renewals ($2.88). DomainsByProxy privacy at goDaddy is another ass raping.
I just had some domains renew at NameCheap. Renewal was $9.96 and renewal on the WhoIs Guard privacy protection was $2.88. All of that would have cost me $19.18 at goDaddy , $6.61 more. Believe me, it adds up when you have a lot of domains.
Their site navigation is horrible. They make excessive use of opening new pages for just about every link you click on. By the time you’re finished with your business, you’ve got at least 5 new browser sessions going.
Oh, and they constantly sneak things into your shopping cart. DOUBLE-CHECK YOUR CART BEFORE YOU CLICK THAT BUY BUTTON!
They deliberately design their ordering pages to be filled with shit you DO NOT NEED. Even after the order is complete, STOP CLICKING BUTTONS because they’re going to try and upsell you with more shit.
Get the shovel. goDaddy is getting deep 6′d.
