Private Contractors Draining California’s Cash

July 21, 2009 the Sacramento Bee reported that CA is wasting millions of dollars hiring private contractors.  Absolutely, it goes on.  Assemblyman Mike Eng, D-Monterey Park wants greater transparency.  I agree, but not because all contractors are shysters, but because the left hand (the state) doesn’t know what the right hand (the people running the state departments) is doing. Walmart Sticker Shock – For Reals

Bzzt!

bzztI was on a local TV station website yesterday and saw an article about Walmart shopping carts zapping people.  I had to read it twice to make sure I read it right the first time.  Cracked me up.  It doesn’t say what store it was happening at.  One woman said she was zapped six or seven times.  LMAO!!!!  I can’t wait to see how this unfolds.

In the meantime, I’m going to take a stab at this myself.  I’ve been shocked by carts myself.  When the air gets dry and you’re shuffling through the store a static charge builds up.  We’re in the middle of a heat wave here.  It’s been over 100 degress for several days and the humidity is unusally low for us like in the 20′s.  That’ll do it.  As I write this the humidity is 25%.  So that’s my take on it.
