goDaddy Just Called Me…
I just had t wo domains renew at goDaddy. They called to tell me thanks for the business. They haven’t done that in a couple of years. Is business bad? Did Danica request more money? He said I also had a bunch that I failed to renew. Yea, I know. That was intentional. Sometimes marketing ideas I get don’t pan out and I’m not about to pay another $18-$19 to renew them.
I find it a little creepy that he rifled through my account. Don’t tell me what I have. I know what I have. That’s like solicitation calls from credit card companies wanting me to transfer balances and they proceed to recite the balances I have…with other credit card companies. Eeeew. Fuckers.
However, since I had him on the line, I felt it was my duty to tell him what I was REALLY up to.
- I said I was transferring the keepers over to NameCheap because I can get a .com name with free WhoIs Guard for only $8.81. I said goDaddy can’t compete with that.
- I told him that NameCheap doesn’t sneak things into the shopping cart during checkout process like goDaddy does. Wow. Dead air on the other end after I said that.
- I told him that NameCheap doesn’t have an affiliate program and doesn’t have to pad its prices to cover all of those commissions.
I should also have mentioned that NameCheap doesn’t have to pay Danica Patrick to show her ass and tits on TV.
Unfortunately, there are some domains I cannot transfer because of the downtime involved during the transfer process. Like the sites that are actually making me money or those tied to my main email accounts.
Transferring a domain can take anywhere from a couple of hours to several days. I find the best time to be on Sundays, provided all the necessary prep work has been done first like unlocking the domain and making sure Registrant email is is correct. (Not the email on the account, but the one on the domain name. I learned that the hard way.) Anyhoo, I’m getting off topic.
But all in all, it felt GOOD to let it out. He said he would tell his marketing department.
Wells Fargo’s economic stimulus plan
I received a letter from Wells Fucko today. I always hold my breath when I see that little red logo in my mailbox, not know if it’s going to be something that’ll make me spit blood or choke on my own laughter.
Does WF have stooopid account holders that don’t quite understand how to use a debit card? Debit cards have pretty much replaced personal checks in the retail environment. We’re smart. We already know that. But just in case…
Quick Refresher Course
Credit Card – Let’s you to spend money you don’t have.
Debit Card – Let’s you spend money you do have.
Wells Fargo’s Economic Stimulus Plan
This is prolly the more plausible reason. People are just not spending as much as they use to because they don’t have as much as they used to. The economy sucks. Here’s how the letter went.
“Dear xxxxx,
Your Wells Fargo Check Card is the easy way to pay for all your purchases. Just swipe your Check Card through the card reader…there’s no need to write a check…leave your checkbook at home…easy way to pay…faster than writing a check…easy way to pay…” (I left out the boring parts.)
Yes, they used “easy way to pay” three times in that little half page letter. Subliminal messaging.
In other words, get out there and spend. I can’t believe they wasted a stamp on that.
Chase Bank Pushes Alice Down The Rabbit Hole
Chase Bank. Those fuckers. I got a letter the other day from them. “We are pleased to let you know that we are making changes to your payment due date to give you more time to pay….you will have an additional 5 days to submit your payment.”
With the millions of credit card customers that Chase has, those additional five days will rake in millions of dollars in extra interest from unsuspecting customers. It’s not even a fucking option! They’re just shoving it down our throats.
Most people pay credit card bills according to due date and they’re going to think that Chase is “being nice and doing them a favor by helping them out during these hard times”. BULL FUCKING SHIT! Little do they know that those extra five days is going to suck more money out of their pocket and in a few months customers will forget about those five days. That’s what Chase is hoping for. Talk about a slight of hand, an end run.
The only way to pay down those card balances is to make a payment as soon as you get that bitch in the mail. Do NOT wait until the due date nears and always pay more than the minimum amount. Fuckers. God I hate credit card companies. Get the fucking shovel. These bastards are going under…again.
